About Dr. Wilmayra Ramírez & Waves Chiropractic
A woman, a mom, a daughter, a wife, a friend, an idealist, a wanderer, an islander, a doctor, a Chiropractor but most importantly a human being passionate about the human potential and it's capacity to heal itself.
Dr. Wilmayra is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, that's where her strong accent comes from if you're ever wondering. She studied Biology at the University of Puerto Rico before heading to Texas to pursue her calling: becoming a Chiropractor. From her first experience with Chiropractic in her first year of college she viewed it as more than a profession, but a lifestyle, every aspect resonated with her. Chiropractic found her and her path started. She moved to Dallas, TX and obtained her doctorate degree in Chiropractic in 2010 from Parker University. That's where she met her now husband, Dr. Sam Callaway. Together they have a 3 year old son, Kingsley. When she is not with patients, Dr. Wilmayra spends most of her time with her family, exploring the Hill Country.

The experience of practicing internationally has not only given her Chiropractic experience but has broadened her perspective about health and individuals. She also utilizes Somato-Respiratory Integration as a breathing technique to deepen and further advance the changes in the body.
The name Waves Chiropractic has many origins. The first choice was Innsaei Waves, meaning intuitive waves in Icelandic; have you seen Innsaei documentary yet? Oh I N T U I T I O N ! After reflection, the conclusion was that there are many waves in our life, waves of intuition, waves of love, waves of fear, waves of peacefulness, waves of change, etc... and we move with them or through them. As sound and vibration travel in waves, so do we. Waves are a reminder of "home", Puerto Rico, they bring calmness, passion, and an island state of mind. When reading the word waves backwards it contains the word "seva", a Sanskrit word meaning “selfless service” or work performed without any thought of reward or repayment; is our intention to serve in the best possible way and contribute to grow a healthy community. Another important reason the practice is named Waves is because in the Network Spinal care there are two waves that often develop through the body. A wave of respiration(kundalini breath) and a spinal(somato-psychic) wave. These waves bring the body to a state of Reorganization, change, and adaptability. When we ask if you are ready to ride with us, we are asking if you are ready to make your own waves and ride them. If you are, we are excited to ride with you! Enjoy the ride...
