The Experience
Your First Appointment:
We are so glad you are here! We want to help make your experience go smoothly and give you the value you deserved. To make the best of our time together please make sure you fill out all forms ahead of time (they will be emailed to you). Dr. Wilmayra Ramirez runs the practice alone so it is important to be ready and on time to avoid being in a rush or affecting other client's appointment times. At your first appointment we will discuss your health history, do an examination of your posture and spine, and answer any questions or concerns you may have. All evaluations take place fully clothed. We will only send you for x-rays if there are clinical indications to do so, we prefer to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation. Lastly, you will receive a private session of Somato-Respiratory Integration.
Second Appointment/Discover Consult:
Dr. Wilmayra will do a results review and discuss the care recommendations individual to your case. If the doctor accepts you as a client and you are ready to begin care, you will receive your first adjustment. If she finds you need something else, then the specific recommendations or referrals will be discussed. We are here for you and will always recommend what we think is best for our clients.
Adjustments/NS Entrainments/Regular visits:
Sessions usually take around 15 minutes. It is recommended to bring flexible clothing, softer fabrics are preferred. Also, try to avoid the use of strong perfumes or body products. Specific instructions will be given at the office for your convenience.
What is Network Spinal Care:
Network Spinal care is an evidence based approach to wellness and body awareness. Gentle precise touch to the spine cues the brain to create new wellness promoting strategies. Two unique healing waves develop that are associated with spontaneous release of spinal and life tensions, and the use of existing tension as fuel for spinal re-organization and enhanced wellness. Practitioners combine their clinical assessments of spinal refinements with patient’s self assessments of wellness and life changes. Greater self-awareness and conscious awakening of the relationships between the body, mind, emotion, and expression of the human spirit are realized through this revolutionary healing work. Webster Technique & Pregnancy:
Webster technique is widely known in the Birthing community as a common approach during pregnancy. It is a misconception that the intent of this technique is to turn babies. Chiropractors don't turn babies, we adjust and align the pelvis of the mom for optimal function and pelvic balance. The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In so doing neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved. It's not only for pregnant women, but anyone with a pelvis. We recommend a well adjusted pelvis during pregnancy. This allows for a better positioning of the baby at the time of delivery. Keep in mind the importance of checking your pelvis before and after pregnancy too.
Children & Babies:
Our adjustments are gentle and specific for the person and their size. At Waves Chiropractic we don't manipulate or thrust on a baby's vertebra, we provide gentle and safe care for every age. Dr. Ramirez is trained and experienced working with babies and children's spines. Many of the traumas or dysfunctions in our bodies start very early in life. It is recommended to have your children checked as early as possible. Dr. Ramirez's son was adjusted just minutes after being born. Babies and children respond very well and quickly to care. Most clients come for wellness check-ups because their parents understand the positive effects of a well adjusted spine. Others begin care for chronic ear infections, problems turning the head, difficulty latching, posture changes, or reflux.
